Welcome to Vanilla
Welcome to your first Vanilla extract! This page is extracted from Welcome to Vanilla. It's what every extract looks like: the text and images from a web page in a clean reading mode. The text is all available offline, and the images are loaded as you need them (this helps save precious storage on your device). If you want the original, tap a link inside an extract to see the live page, or use Share, then Original Link.
While I'm sure you're enjoying this extract and will treasure it dearly, this app wouldn't be too useful if you couldn't add your own. There are two main ways. First, you can press the "+" button on the Extracts screen. Secondly, you can tap Share in Safari or any other app and choose Vanilla. There are a few other ways to add extracts, but I'll leave those for you to discover.
When you've gotten a few more extracts and want to find one, you can search by keyword. Search checks the title, the text and the web address of an extract. You can also filter by read or unread, and by tag. I usually have my extracts list filtered to only show unread extracts.
A few more things worth knowing:
- Swipe an extract to the right to mark it as read, or to the left to delete it.
- In the menu at the bottom of an extract, tap Listen and Vanilla will read it to you, highlighting as it goes. Reader Options is there too, for the text size and theme.
- If your device has Apple Intelligence, Vanilla suggests tags and writes a short summary of each extract. It all happens on your device.
- Add the unread widget to your Home Screen or Lock Screen, or ask Siri "What's unread in Vanilla?"
Thanks for choosing Vanilla. If you have any questions, suggestions, or jokes for me, head to https://vanilla.ozbe.dev/feedback/.

That's it. Now that you've read this extract, you can mark it as read with the little checkmark at the bottom of this screen.
